Dortmund and Leverkusen Compete for Manchester City Prospect

Reports indicate that Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are interested in acquiring Manchester City's James McAtee.

Both clubs are exploring options to sign McAtee on loan with a potential buy clause in January or for a permanent transfer in the summer.

Dortmund is particularly focused on strengthening their options for the number 10 position and has been monitoring McAtee for several years.

Leverkusen views the 22-year-old as a potential successor to Florian Wirtz, who is expected to remain with the club for now but may leave in the future.

According to Sky Germany, McAtee is dissatisfied with his current playing time at Manchester City; however, the club is hesitant to allow him to depart this month.

The attacking midfielder's contract with Manchester City runs until 2026.
