Wolfsburg Announces Surgical Procedures for Majer and Paredes

VfL Wolfsburg has announced that attackers Kevin Paredes and Lovro Majer have both undergone surgery. The club confirmed the procedures on Monday, attributing them to Majer's ongoing ankle issues and complications related to Paredes' metatarsal injury.

Majer started the season strongly, scoring two goals against FC Bayern München on match-day one. However, he suffered an ankle ligament injury on match-day two, which sidelined him until match-day eight. Although he recently returned to the squad, he had to withdraw again due to a thigh injury. Wolfsburg's statement indicated that the decision to operate was made because Majer's ankle had not healed properly.

Paredes, on the other hand, has not played for Wolfsburg this season. The 21-year-old's injury in August has hindered his promising career in the Bundesliga, where he has scored four goals in 52 appearances. Paredes earned a starting position under Niko Kovac last season and recently scored twice for the U.S. national team during Olympic duty. Wolfsburg did not provide a timeline for Paredes' recovery.
