Mohamed Salah has expressed disappointment over Liverpool's lack of a new contract offer as he approaches the end of his current deal. The 32-year-old forward, who has scored 12 goals this season, is under contract until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Following Liverpool’s recent 3-2 victory against Southampton, where Salah scored twice, he indicated that he feels he is “more out than in” regarding his future with the club. Salah stated, “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club.” He emphasized his long-standing connection to Liverpool but acknowledged that the decision is ultimately beyond his control.
Salah is one of three key players, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will enter the last six months of their contracts soon. If no extensions are signed, they will be eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs starting in January.
When asked about his disappointment at not receiving a contract offer, Salah replied, “Of course, yeah. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end, it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.” He remains focused on the current season, aiming to win both the Premier League and the Champions League.
On a recent episode of Monday Night Football, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher criticized Salah's approach, labeling it “selfish.” Carragher remarked on the disparity in contract valuations between Salah and the club, suggesting that Liverpool has not made an offer because Salah would likely reject it. He stressed the importance of Liverpool’s current objectives, stating that the focus should be on winning the Premier League rather than individual contract situations.
