Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly planning to terminate its contract with Castore and switch to New Balance as its kit supplier, according to a report by German football magazine Kicker.
Despite having a contract with Castore that runs until 2027, the double German winners are looking to make the change for the 2025/26 season. New Balance has reportedly outbid Adidas to secure the partnership with Bayer 04.
The current agreement with Castore, established in February 2022, is set to continue until 2027. However, by ending this contract and signing with New Balance, the club is expected to gain a seven-figure sum in additional income.
The new deal with New Balance is anticipated to last for five to six years, providing Bayer Leverkusen with an annual income between €6 million and €7 million, compared to the €2-3 million per year currently received from Castore.
Kicker notes that Bayer Leverkusen's ability to terminate the contract is attributed to Castore's struggles to meet the increased demand for shirts last summer.
