Dortmund Faces Challenges Ahead of Pokal Match Against Wolfsburg

An out-of-form and depleted Borussia Dortmund will travel to Wolfsburg for Tuesday's DFB-Pokal clash.

Borussia Dortmund is facing challenges with injuries ahead of their DFB-Pokal match against Wolfsburg. Coach Nuri Sahin noted the growing list of absentees during a press conference on Monday.

Confirmed absences include Karim Adeyemi, Giovanni Reyna, Julien Duranville, Yan Couto, and Niklas Süle. Additionally, Julian Ryerson, Waldemar Anton, and Marcel Sabitzer are considered doubtful after sustaining injuries in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Augsburg.

Sahin mentioned that Ryerson will undergo further examinations on Monday, expressing limited optimism regarding his availability. He stated, “I don't have high hopes for him.”

Regarding Marcel Sabitzer and Waldemar Anton, Sahin indicated that their status would be determined close to kick-off, noting, “every hour counts.”

Despite the injury situation, Sahin refrained from attributing blame, stating that there is no discernible pattern to the injuries. He remarked, “If we had eight muscle injuries right now, we could talk about whether we're doing something wrong.”
