Man Utd agree to sell 21yo midfielder to Burnley

Manchester United have agreed to permanently transfer midfielder Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley, as reported by The Telegraph. Mejbri, who is a Tunisia international, had limited playing time with the Red Devils last season, making only 10 appearances before being loaned to Sevilla in January. However, his time in Spain was also disappointing, with just six appearances, leading him to opt for a move to the Championship. Mejbri recently underwent a medical with Burnley and is anticipated to sign a permanent contract within the next 24 hours. Initially, Burnley sought to loan him with an obligation to buy, but United insisted on a permanent transfer. Mejbri is expected to have regular playing opportunities with Burnley as they aim for promotion to the top flight this season. The 21-year-old now has the chance to demonstrate his abilities with his new club, having failed to impress United manager Erik ten Hag. Additionally, Scott McTominay is also set to depart from United, with a move to Serie A side Napoli expected in the near future.
