Wirtz Delivers Best Performance for Germany to Date

Florian Wirtz delivered a defining performance as Germany rallied to a 4-3 victory against Switzerland, ending a four-game winless run. He assisted twice in the first half and then scored twice after the break to secure the win for the visitors.

Wirtz reflected on the achievement, suggesting it might be his best showing in a Germany shirt, while acknowledging that one of his goals was not precisely planned but noted as intended for the second shot.

The 22-year-old also expressed personal ambition to win the World Cup, emphasizing the desire to reach the final and lift the trophy with a strong squad, while noting the competition will be challenging.

Although Germany showcased a strong attacking display, concerns about defensive fragility persisted after they conceded three goals from three shots on target. Wirtz stressed that the team has capable defenders and that the mistakes were avoidable, promising work on improvement moving forward.
