Nils-Ole Book has been appointed as the new sporting director of Borussia Dortmund, succeeding Sebastian Kehl. The decision follows Dortmund’s departure of Kehl on Sunday, and Book’s appointment was confirmed on Monday.
Book, 40, joins from SV Elversberg, where he held a similar role, and has signed a contract with Dortmund through 2029.
Club officials highlighted Book as the preferred candidate, noting his successful work at Elversberg and expressing confidence in his fit for the club both professionally and personally.
Book expressed enthusiasm for taking on the role, describing Borussia Dortmund as one of Europe’s largest clubs and stating his intention to contribute to a successful future and to work with a strong team.
