Kai Havertz has discussed his extended injury absence and his anticipated return to the German national team, following his recent recovery from a knee injury.
The Arsenal forward, back to full fitness, has earned his first national team call-up since November 2024 and spoke at a press conference about the challenges of his layoff and his readiness to contribute to Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.
Havertz described the period as difficult and emphasized his happiness to rejoin the team, noting that he has missed playing with teammates and representing the national side, including singing the national anthem. He said the experience felt like a rollercoaster and expressed confidence in being able to play 90 minutes again in the future.
He could be selected to face Switzerland in a friendly match on Friday.
