Bayern Leaders Open to a Further Season with Neuer as First-Choice Keeper

The 39-year-old goalkeeper could extend his stay with the club depending on his physical condition at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Sources close to the club indicate the team would welcome another year with Manuel Neuer in the squad.

Neuer has said his decision will be based solely on his physical state when the season concludes.

He has ruled out pursuing a move to a different league abroad, preferring to remain in Germany rather than following a path similar to a peer's move overseas.

The goalkeeper appears intent on finishing his career with the club, either at the end of this season or in the future.

Should Neuer sign a one-year extension to 2027, he would be expected to provide more playing time for Urbig next season to aid his development.

If Neuer does not extend, the club would consider exploring options in the goalkeeper market.

Loanees Daniel Peretz and Alexander Nübel, currently with Southampton and VfB Stuttgart respectively, are not in the club's plans, with the team seeking permanent solutions for both in the summer when their loans end.
