2. Bundesliga Preview: Greuther Fürth Hosts Arminia Bielefeld

Greuther Fürth faces Arminia Bielefeld at the Sportpark Ronhof on Friday evening with preview, team news and predicted lineups ahead of the match.

Fürth sit bottom of the table on 19 points and have won only one of their last 10 league games, with just one victory since coach Heiko Vogel took charge in December. A 1-0 defeat at Kaiserslautern highlighted their struggles, especially in attack, as they managed only two shots on target and failed to score for the third time in five matches.

Vogel underscored the gravity of the situation, stating that there are no unimportant games left as the opportunity to collect points continues to diminish. Home form has also been a concern, with Fürth winless at home since November 2025. They did secure a 3-1 league win in the reverse fixture at Bielefeld in September, courtesy of goals from Noel Futkeu, Marco John and Felix Klaus.

Team news for Fürth includes the unavailability of Gian-Luca Itter, Felix Klaus, Julian Green, Timo Schlieck, Marco John, David Abrangao and Sacha Bansé. The predicted 3-4-1-2 lineup features Prüfrock in goal, with a back three of Elvedi, Ziereis and Münz; Reich, Arifi, Will and Keller in midfield; Hrgota in support of Futkeu and Ltaief.

Arminia Bielefeld, after an eight-match winless run, have responded with back-to-back victories and sit 10th in the table, providing distance from the relegation zone. They defeated Magdeburg 2-0 away, a performance characterized by defensive organization and clinical finishing from Maximilian Bauer and Benjamin Boakye.

Coach Mitch Kniat emphasizes focusing on their own play and exploiting Fürth’s compact, deep defense by moving the ball cleanly and finding the right spaces, rather than dwelling on Fürth’s struggles. This win at Magdeburg marked Arminia’s first away victory of the season, and they aim to beat Fürth for the first time since 2020.

Arminia’s team news lists Felix Hagmann and Leon Schneider as unavailable. The predicted 4-3-3 lineup is Kersken in goal, with Lannert, Knoche, Bauer, Handwerker in defense; Russo, Corboz, Wörl in midfield; Momuluh, Uldrikis and Rochelt in attack.
