Tottenham manager on the brink of dismissal within hours as private crisis talks are leaked

Thomas Frank's future as Tottenham manager is reportedly under discussion by the club's hierarchy after a Sunday meeting, with supporters calling for his dismissal following a 2-1 home defeat to West Ham.

Tottenham have suffered three defeats in a row and eight losses in 14 matches, seven months after Frank arrived from Brentford to replace Ange Postecoglou.

Captain Cristian Romero described the team's situation as a "disaster moment," and reports indicate senior executives have met to debate Frank's fate, with his role described as under serious threat and a decision could come within hours.

Frank was due to lead training on Monday afternoon and hold a pre-match press conference ahead of a Champions League fixture with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, but club officials would not confirm whether he would fulfill either duty.

The discussions reportedly considered replacement options, with the possibility of a change described as under serious consideration amid concerns about Spurs' perilous league position and a history of failed appointments. Among potential candidates mentioned were Xabi Alonso, who is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, and Mauricio Pochettino, who could entertain a return.

The defeat to West Ham has been described as a potential point of no return, with fan disturbances including co-owner Vivienne Lewis being confronted in the hospitality area of the stadium.

Tottenham have won only once in their last eight matches and have been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions. They sit 11th in the Champions League group phase ahead of a crucial visit from Dortmund to try to reach the last 16, and occupy 14th place in the Premier League with seven wins from 22 league games.

Postecoglou, who ended Tottenham's 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League and guiding them to the Champions League, left after last season; his attacking, entertaining style contrasts with Frank's more defensive approach, which critics say has failed to deliver consistent results.

Romero, who scored in the defeat, urged fans to stay supportive and to rally behind the team, saying they must apply silence and work hard in training, and that a win over Dortmund could help turn the season around if Frank remains in charge.
