Casemiro will leave the club at the end of the season after his contract expires. He joined in 2022 from Real Madrid for £70 million ($94 million) and has made 146 appearances, scoring 21 goals.
The club thanked him as a "serial winner" and said it hoped to finish his time at the club on a high note together.
Casemiro said in a club statement that he would "carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life," adding that there are many more memories to create in the next four months.
The 33-year-old midfielder built his reputation at Real Madrid, where he won five Champions League titles. He scored the opening goal in the League Cup final win over Newcastle in 2023 as the team finished third in the league, but did not feature in the following year's FA Cup final win over City.
He is among the club's highest earners and posted on social media that he would be "forever" a Red Devil, saying he would give his all for four months and to show eternal respect and affection for the fans.
United sit fifth in the Premier League ahead of Sunday's game against leaders Arsenal.
