In a press conference, BVB coach Niko Kovač confirmed that two defenders will be unavailable for Borussia Dortmund's match against Gladbach on Friday.
Kovač announced, “Jobe Bellingham will be suspended, and Ramy Bensebaini is at the Africa Cup of Nations. Waldemar Anton and Aaron Anselmino will also be unavailable tomorrow."
Concerns arose after both center-backs left the field due to thigh injuries during the 2-2 draw with Bodø/Glimt. However, Kovač did not provide updates on the availability of midfielders Sabitzer and Brandt.
The 54-year-old coach emphasized the importance of fan support, stating, “As a team, we’ve developed well and are in a better position than last year. We need the stadium – it has magic and energy. We often need that boost from the stands – it helps us win games."
Kovač also commented on their opponents, Gladbach, noting, “They’ve made good progress recently. They’re a tough team to play against and will defend well. Our clear ambition is to win the last game of 2025."
BVB will host the Foals at the Westfalenstadion as they kick off the action for Matchday 15.
