Bayern Munich will face 1. FC Heidenheim without captain Manuel Neuer in their final game of the year on Sunday.
The club confirmed on Monday that Neuer sustained a muscle tear in his right thigh during the team’s 2-2 draw against Mainz.
In Neuer's absence, 22-year-old Jonas Urbig is expected to start in goal for the match against Heidenheim. Urbig has already appeared in four matches for Bayern this season.
The draw with Mainz has left Bayern Munich nine points ahead of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, who are positioned second and third, respectively, ahead of the next round of fixtures.
