RB Leipzig Supporters Rejoice at Timo Werner's Anticipated Return to Bundesliga Action

Timo Werner was warmly welcomed by RB Leipzig fans as he made his first Bundesliga appearance in nearly two years.

After almost two years away from Germany's top flight, Werner returned to the pitch during stoppage time in Leipzig's 1–0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Having scored 113 goals in 214 games for Leipzig, Werner spent one and a half years on loan at Tottenham before rejoining the club this summer, much to the delight of the fans.

Leipzig's managing director for sport, Marcel Schäfer, praised Werner in a post-match interview, stating, “He’s a very deserving player.”

Schäfer further noted, “He has an incredible scoring record – and the fans appreciate that.”

With this win, Werner and RB Leipzig currently occupy the third position in the Bundesliga standings.
