Mainz 05 is facing uncertainty regarding the availability of first-choice goalkeeper Robin Zentner for their upcoming Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig on Saturday.
Zentner has not participated in training following an early exit from Tuesday's session due to back issues.
During a pre-match press conference, Mainz coach Bo Henriksen indicated that a final decision on Zentner's participation would be made after Friday's training session.
Henriksen noted, “He had a bit of a problem on Wednesday, but it was slightly better yesterday. He needs to train today if he’s going to be able to play tomorrow. We’ll have to see how he feels later.”
Should Zentner be unable to play, Lasse Rieß is prepared to take his place in goal. Henriksen stated, “We also have a very capable second goalkeeper. Lasse will be ready if Robin can’t play.”
