Blessin Pleased with Positive Mental Performance in Match Against Augsburg

St. Pauli's coach, Alexander Blessin, expressed satisfaction following the team's 2-1 comeback victory against FC Augsburg. In a post-match interview, Blessin noted the team's initial struggle, particularly in the first 15 minutes before Augsburg scored.

He observed, “We had no real grip on the game. We weren't picking up our men and we made it too easy for Augsburg. We invited them to generate turnovers several times.” Blessin acknowledged that after falling behind, the team improved, stating they found stability and effectively pressed the ball in the second half. He praised the team's mental resilience, describing their performance as enjoyable to watch.

Match-winning goal-scorer Danel Sinani also shared his excitement about the victory and recognized the role of the fans in motivating the team. Sinani remarked, “We proved what a good team we are today. We showed good mentality after going behind and came back with the support of our fans.”

Commenting on his decisive goal, he added, “It's always good when you score the decider and we win. There were a lot of players in the way when I went for goal. If you whip the ball in, there's always a chance someone will deflect it,” referring to his significant contribution to the match.
