Winds Uncertainty Surrounds Wolfsburg's Future

Jonas Wind has acknowledged the possibility of leaving VfL Wolfsburg this summer, stating, "we'll have to see what happens." With only one year remaining on his contract, the future of the Denmark international at the club appears uncertain.

Following his goal in Wolfsburg’s 2-0 victory over Dynamo Dresden in the Volkswagen Cup, Wind commented on his contract status, emphasizing the need to wait and see how things unfold.

Wolfsburg's new head coach, Paul Simonis, expressed his desire for Wind to remain with the team, stating, “I hope he stays.” However, speculation surrounding the potential signing of Josh Sargent from Norwich City is intensifying and contributing to discussions about Wind’s potential departure.

Additionally, 20-year-old Dženan Pejčinović, who recently returned from a loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf, has shown promise during the pre-season, increasing the competition for forward positions. Simonis remarked, “For one match, Jonas might be the better fit, for another, Dženan.”
