A 26-year-old Brazilian winger, Léonardo Scienza, is being pursued by the newly promoted Cathedral City club, 1.FC Köln. According to reports from Sky Germany, the club is considering a move for Scienza, who currently plays for FC Heidenheim.
Thomas Kessler and new head coach Lukas Kwasniok have identified Scienza as a high-priority target for the team's upcoming season. Discussions between Heidenheim and the player's representatives have reportedly begun, as confirmed by Patrick Berger.
However, Heidenheim's current price expectations for Scienza are deemed too high for Köln, who are navigating their budget as a newly promoted team. Initially, Köln proposed a loan deal that included a purchase option for a later date, but this offer was rejected by Heidenheim.
Scienza played a crucial role in helping FC Heidenheim maintain their Bundesliga status, scoring a key goal in the relegation play-off. He is also attracting interest from clubs such as Dinamo Zagreb and Bahia.
