Borussia Monchengladbach Nears Agreement for Striker Acquisition

Borussia Mönchengladbach is set to strengthen its attacking lineup with the imminent signing of Haris Tabakovic from TSG Hoffenheim. Following the departure of Alassane Pléa and a forthcoming loan deal for Tomáš Čvančara, the club is progressing towards finalizing this deal.

According to reports, the Bosnian striker is expected to undergo his medical examination today as part of an initial loan agreement. Hoffenheim had acquired Tabakovic for €3 million last year after he finished as the top scorer in the 2. Bundesliga, despite Hertha Berlin's lackluster performance in the 2023/24 season.

The 31-year-old forward is preparing for his fourth transfer in four years. Borussia Mönchengladbach recently bid farewell to long-serving attacker Alassane Pléa, who has joined PSV, while Tomáš Čvančara is anticipated to move to Antalyaspor on loan. Additionally, German international Tim Kleindienst will be sidelined for the opening matches of the season due to injury.

Earlier in the transfer window, sporting director Roland Virkus confirmed the signings of Jens Castrop and Kevin Diks. In his previous season with Hoffenheim, Tabakovic managed to score only three goals while playing less than 1,000 minutes amid the club's relegation struggles.
