SC Freiburg has announced the contract extension of Johan Manzambi, a central midfielder, as confirmed by the Bundesliga club on Tuesday.
The specific length of the new deal has not been disclosed, which is customary for Freiburg.
Board member Jochen Saier praised Manzambi's development, stating, “Johan has consistently continued to develop, something that makes him really stand out. He has been able to hone his skills even further and his style of play has made him an essential part of the success of the team. Everyone is sure that here is the best place for him to be.”
The 19-year-old player made his debut for Freiburg’s first team last season. Following the signing of his new contract, he expressed gratitude for his experience, saying, “I’m very grateful for and happy about my first year with the SC first team. The stadium and the fans are great, and we have a properly good team. I really wanted to stay here and hope that we can deliver another strong performance next season.”
Manzambi has made 11 appearances for Freiburg’s senior side, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
