Hoeneß Expresses Anger Over Matthäus' Assessment of Woltemade

Uli Hoeneß, a member of Bayern Munich's supervisory board, expressed significant frustration with former midfielder Lothar Matthäus regarding comments made about Stuttgart talent Nick Woltemade.

In an interview with a German tabloid, Matthäus suggested that a €60 million transfer fee for Woltemade is insufficient, proposing instead a range of €80-100 million.

Hoeneß criticized Matthäus for potentially inflating Woltemade's market value, stating, “Lothar Matthäus is out of his mind! These experts have been a thorn in my side for a long time.”

He emphasized that Matthäus is not in a position of authority and accused him of making unrealistic financial demands, similar to previous comments made about Florian Wirtz.

Hoeneß argued that such remarks could pressure Stuttgart into rejecting lower offers, as accepting a lesser deal could negatively impact their reputation.

Matthäus's views were echoed by other pundits, including Didi Hamann, Fredi Bobic, and Michael Reschke, as noted by Kicker.
