Drewes Signs Two-Year Contract with Borussia Dortmund

Drewes will become Dortmund's third-choice goalkeeper going into the 2025-26 campaign.

As rumours circulated at the start of the week regarding Patrick Drewes' move to Borussia Dortmund, confirmation was announced today.

The veteran shot-stopper has officially penned a deal with Die Schwarzgelben until 2027, with Bochum receiving approximately €300,000 for the transfer.

Reports indicate that Bochum did not obstruct the 34-year-old's desire to join the Black and Yellows. Drewes expressed his enthusiasm for the move, stating, "After learning of BVB's interest and having discussions with those in charge, it became clear to me that I wanted to make the move to Dortmund. I want to contribute my part to our success as a team through my performance in daily training, and I'm looking forward to being part of one of the biggest clubs in Europe."

Prior to signing for BVB, Drewes represented several clubs, including Wolfsburg, Würzburger Kickers, Sandhausen, Karlsruhe, and Bochum.
