Xabi Alonso has officially been named the new head coach of Real Madrid.
It has long been anticipated, but now it is confirmed: Xabi Alonso will succeed Carlo Ancelotti as head coach of Real Madrid this summer.
The La Liga club has announced that Alonso, who is stepping down from his role as Bayer Leverkusen coach, will return to his former club on a contract that extends until the summer of 2028.
Since taking charge of Leverkusen in October 2022, Alonso has achieved significant success, including winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and German Super Cup.
Alonso arrives in Madrid with the ambition to build upon his achievements in Germany and deliver impressive results at the Bernabéu.
