Jonathan Tah, an experienced defender for Bayer Leverkusen, has expressed his thoughts regarding his upcoming departure from the BayArena in an interview with BILD.
Despite typically maintaining a low profile, Tah acknowledged the significance of his exit, stating, “I will certainly have the opportunity to say something in detail again [at the end of the season].” He expressed gratitude for the support he has received, saying, “I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart for everything.”
The 29-year-old centre-half described the emotional impact of his decision, noting that it is challenging not only for him but also for his wife. He mentioned, “When I sit at home with my wife and we talk about it, it brings tears to her eyes. I'll probably feel the same way when we play our last home game. That means a lot to me.”
Tah has been a key player for Xabi Alonso's squad, having captained the team to their first Bundesliga title last season and making 30 appearances this campaign.
