SC Freiburg has strengthened its defense ahead of the 2025/26 campaign by signing Anthony Jung from Werder Bremen, as confirmed by both clubs.
The terms of the contract have been agreed upon, but the details will remain confidential for the time being.
At 33 years old, Jung, who can play as a left-back or center-back, brings significant experience to the team as Freiburg prepares for a return to European football.
His signing is believed to address the gap left by the retirement of Manuel Gulde.
Freiburg's sporting director, Jochen Saier, noted, "Tony is strong in duels and, with his left foot, can be deployed in a variety of positions in several systems."
