Bayer Leverkusen has refuted claims that midfielder Florian Wirtz is nearing an agreement with Bayern Munich regarding personal terms.
On Tuesday, Foot Mercato reported that Wirtz was close to finalizing a deal with Bayern Munich. However, Bayer Leverkusen countered this assertion when contacted by RTL and ntv, labeling it as the "1000th false rumor" concerning the young player.
Despite the dismissal of the report, Bayern Munich remains a strong candidate in the pursuit of the 21-year-old talent, who has been on the club's radar for some time.
Notably, honorary president Uli Hoeneß has maintained a close relationship with the Wirtz family, revealing earlier this month that the player's parents visited him last year.
Wirtz is currently under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2027.
