Rumours suggest that negotiations between Josha Vagnoman's agent and VfB Stuttgart have reached an impasse as the club evaluates its options ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to a recent report from Kicker, the future of Vagnoman at Stuttgart remains uncertain. In October, Vagnoman expressed his desire to stay with the club, stating, “A contract would be a nice thing, I would be happy if it happened.”
Discussions began with the player's agent as he entered the final year of his contract; however, no significant progress has been made since then.
Kicker indicates that talks between the German full-back and the club are currently on hold, with Stuttgart opting to wait and assess their options.
Competition for positions is believed to be a key factor in the stalled negotiations. Leonidas Stergiou has performed well at right-back, playing three consecutive matches in Vagnoman's absence.
The Swiss international joined Stuttgart from St. Gallen on loan last season, and the club subsequently activated a €2 million purchase option during the summer. Vagnoman is still only 22 years old.
It is anticipated that Stuttgart and Vagnoman, who has made 62 appearances for the club since his arrival in 2022, will evaluate their options in the coming weeks.
