In an exclusive interview with Ruhr Nachrichten, full-back Daniel Svensson shared insights into his recent transfer to Borussia Dortmund and his experiences since joining the club.
The 23-year-old revealed that he had attracted interest from several other clubs, including RB Leipzig, Benfica, and Leeds United. Svensson stated, "It’s true that there was interest from other clubs. But when things became concrete with Borussia Dortmund, I just wanted to come here."
He expressed his enthusiasm about joining Dortmund, describing it as "a very big club, one of the biggest teams in Germany," and emphasized that the opportunity to play there was one he was eager to accept.
Despite the challenges the club faces this season, Svensson noted that this did not impact his decision to join. He remarked, "BVB is such a big and good club that that didn’t influence my decision. A club like Dortmund can always come back."
He acknowledged that most teams experience off seasons and expressed confidence in Dortmund's ability to rebound, saying, "But I know that we will come back and hopefully we can do that now after the win against Union Berlin."
Although Svensson has shown impressive performances, he may face competition for the left-back position with the return of Ramy Bensebaini to full fitness.
