According to reports, it is still possible for Kimmich to play against VfB Stuttgart next Friday. He had to leave the field before halftime during Bayern’s 4-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, but his injury is not serious.
An MRI scan revealed that the issue is related to tendon irritation, rather than a major injury.
With upcoming Champions League matches against Bayer Leverkusen scheduled for March 5 and 11, Kimmich's rest might be prioritized. Bayern currently holds an 8-point lead in the Bundesliga, allowing them to focus on their European campaign.
Additionally, the return of Joao Palhinha from illness, along with the strong performances of Aleksandar Pavlovic, and the versatility of Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer, means Bayern has sufficient depth in Kimmich's position.
