VfB Stuttgart's head coach, Sebastian Hoeneß, expressed frustration following a disappointing 1-1 draw against TSG Hoffenheim. In a post-game press conference, he conveyed the dissatisfaction of his players regarding the result and remarked on the fluctuating nature of the match.
"The mood in the dressing room is low; it feels like a defeat. That's because we think we have to win the game," Hoeneß stated.
He noted that the team performed well, especially in the first 30 minutes, creating several opportunities even after taking a 1-0 lead. "We had huge chances, but we failed to close it down," he added, acknowledging Hoffenheim's ability to pose a threat as the game progressed.
Despite the disappointing outcome, Hoeneß emphasized that the performance was a step in the right direction. "The point doesn't feel so good, but the performance was all the better for it," he remarked.
Looking ahead, Hoeneß and his squad are preparing for their upcoming match against Bayern Munich next Friday, as they aim to secure a position in the Champions League.
