Werder Bremen’s managing director Clemens Fritz has expressed his support for head coach Ole Werner amid recent challenges faced by the team, according to reports from Sky Germany.
After a promising start to the season, Bremen has encountered difficulties, including a narrow 2-1 defeat to DfB Pokal opponents Arminia Bielefeld, which has increased pressure on the club.
Fritz emphasized that there is no discussion regarding Werner's position, stating, "We can close the coaching issue straight away. He [Ole Werner] is not up for discussion at all. We see how focused he is, how solution-oriented he is in his work and what he gives the boys."
He further noted, "In our eyes, he has done a good job in recent years and has developed the team step by step. I am sure that together we will pull ourselves out of this valley."
The club is reportedly in discussions for a contract extension with the 36-year-old coach, whose current deal is set to expire in 2026.
Bremen is scheduled to face VfL Wolfsburg this weekend, although the match may be challenging due to injuries affecting two key players.
