The 28-year-old goalkeeper Alexander Nubel may extend his loan at VfB Stuttgart beyond the current season, as reported by BILD.
Following the contract extension of Manuel Neuer, the likelihood of Nubel remaining with Stuttgart has increased. An agreement between Stuttgart and Bayern Munich includes a clause allowing Bayern to recall Nubel by April 30, 2025.
However, Bayern Munich has recently signed 21-year-old Jonas Urbig from FC Köln, who has already represented Germany at the youth level. Urbig has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.
Once Nubel’s loan concludes after the 2025/26 season, he is expected to return to Bayern and compete with Urbig for the starting goalkeeper position.
The goalkeeping situation at Bayern Munich remains complex, as Manuel Neuer continues to hold his starting role despite the presence of four other goalkeepers, including Nubel, Urbig, Daniel Peretz, and Sven Ulreich.
