SC Freiburg confirmed the signing of Jan-Niklas Beste on Friday.
Former Heidenheim winger Jan-Niklas Beste is returning to the Bundesliga. SC Freiburg announced the permanent transfer of the 26-year-old from Benfica on Friday.
Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach stated, "Opportunities arise and you shouldn't hesitate to take advantage of them. The chance to add Niklas to our squad was one of those occasions." He emphasized Beste’s versatility and familiarity with the Bundesliga, noting that he has already proven himself on the pitch. Hartenbach added that the integration process would begin immediately.
Beste expressed his enthusiasm for joining the club, stating, “I am very keen to play in the Bundesliga and the chemistry was right in the talks with Sport-Club. I remember the Europa-Park stadium from my last appearance here in Freiburg as being very atmospheric and I'm looking forward to experiencing that atmosphere in an SC shirt.” He concluded by affirming his commitment to give his all from day one.
