Miyoshi of Bochum Suspended for Two Matches

The German FA's disciplinary arm has confirmed a two-match suspension for VfL Bochum attacker Koji Miyoshi.

Following his straight red card early in Saturday's 1-1 draw with 1. FC Union Berlin, Miyoshi will be ineligible to play for the Bundesliga's last-placed club over the next two match-days. The ban, confirmed by the German FA on Monday, excludes him from the final league fixture of the calendar year against Heidenheim and the first match of 2025 against Mainz 05.

The high-profile summer signing has scored one league goal in 11 appearances for the team this season. Miyoshi had started his second consecutive league fixture under current VfL trainer Dieter Hecking on Saturday. He notably scored a crucial late equalizer against defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen on match-day ten, marking what many consider Bochum's most important goal of the season.
