Hamburger SV is in the process of finding a new head coach following the dismissal of Steffen Baumgart on Sunday.
Reports from Sky Germany indicate that former Hamburger SV striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is among the candidates being considered for the position.
It has been suggested that the club was in discussions with van Nistelrooy prior to Baumgart's appointment in February.
Van Nistelrooy recently departed from Manchester United, where he served as an assistant coach under Erik ten Hag.
After ten Hag's departure, van Nistelrooy took over as caretaker coach for four matches before leaving when Ruben Amorim assumed the role.
The 48-year-old former Netherlands international also held the position of head coach at PSV for the 2022-23 season.
