VfB Stuttgart is facing significant injury challenges ahead of their Bundesliga match against VfL Bochum on Saturday.
The club confirmed on Thursday that star striker Deniz Undav has sustained a muscle strain during training, which may keep him sidelined for the remainder of 2024. Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness indicated that while the exact duration of Undav's absence is uncertain, it would require favorable circumstances for him to return this year.
Stuttgart also experienced another setback during the international break, as El Bilal Touré suffered a foot injury while playing for Mali. Hoeness expressed concern, stating, "We have to assume that he has suffered a more serious injury."
Additionally, Ameen Al-Dakhil will miss the upcoming match due to flu, while decisions regarding the availability of Angelo Stiller and Anrie Chase will be made closer to game time.
Long-term injuries continue to affect the team, with Jamie Leweling (thigh), Dan-Axel Zagadou (knee), and Luca Raimund (thigh) remaining unavailable. However, there is some positive news as Enzo Millot has been cleared to play after recovering from a minor injury.
