After suffering a 5-1 defeat in Belgrade, VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness expressed his disappointment with his team's performance.
Hoeness acknowledged that the match against Crvena Zvezda did not go well for Stuttgart, stating, "It wasn’t a good performance from us, from front to back. We lacked precision in our play, never really got into a rhythm or took control, despite having a lot of possession. We slowed the tempo down at the wrong moments and sped it up at the wrong times too. We weren’t able to come out on top in lots of decisive tackles either. Our positioning wasn’t good when we lost possession and that played into the opposition’s hands."
With only four points from five Champions League matches, there is significant pressure on Stuttgart as they approach their final three group stage games.
Hoeness remarked, "We missed a big opportunity to put ourselves in a better position in the Champions League table. After this game and this result, we’re now in a situation where we need to pick up points in all of our remaining games."
