Andrich Questions Hand Placement Following Penalty Draw in Hungary Match

Robert Andrich addressed Hungary's contentious penalty equalizer during the Nations League match, where Germany faced Hungary in a 1-1 draw. He was joined by scorer Felix Nmecha, who also offered his insights regarding the penalty decision.

The match saw both goals scored in the second half, with Felix Nmecha netting Germany's goal and Dominik Szoboszlai converting a penalty for Hungary.

Prior to the match, Germany's coach Julian Nagelsmann made significant changes to the lineup, resting key players Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala, who later came on as substitutes.

Following the match, Andrich praised Nmecha's performance, stating, “Massive praise to him for the goal. If we see the game through (over time) then he would've had the winning goal.”

Regarding the penalty decision, Andrich remarked on the handball controversy, questioning, “There we have the handball problem once again. Where should he go with his hand?” He further noted, “He gets the hand hit from one meter away. When you look at it (on the monitor) then you always give it.”

Felix Nmecha expressed his excitement about scoring, saying, “Obviously, you always dream of these goals and these games. To play for Germany is an enormous deal.”
