Chelsea prepared to offload Petrovic after Jorgensen deal

Chelsea are getting ready to sell goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic after the recent acquisition of Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. Petrovic was the main goalkeeper for Chelsea towards the end of last season, but he is not part of manager Enzo Maresca's plans. Maresca prefers a goalkeeper who is strong at playing the ball. Although Robert Sanchez is his top choice, Jorgensen could also compete for the position. There are reports that Chelsea are planning to let go of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Petrovic before the transfer deadline. Arrizabalaga has been hoping to return to Real Madrid, but Chelsea are unlikely to consider another loan deal for him. Petrovic, who is currently recovering from a minor injury, could also leave as Jorgensen is now seen as the backup goalkeeper. Chelsea have had a difficult pre-season with a draw and a defeat to Wrexham and Celtic, respectively. They have upcoming friendlies against Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid in the United States.
