Return to Reality Following Ange's Leadership; Disturbing Fan Conflict as Under Pressure Manager Loses Composure — Premier League Summary

Arsenal extended their Premier League lead to four points following a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, thanks to Eberechi Eze's decisive goal. Meanwhile, Manchester City suffered a 1-0 loss against Aston Villa.

Bournemouth moved into second place after defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0, while Tottenham climbed to third with a 3-0 win over Everton. Arsenal's triumph came after Liverpool's defeat to Brentford on Saturday, allowing Arsenal to distance themselves from their title rivals.

Eze, who transferred from Crystal Palace to Arsenal for £60 million ($122 million) in August, scored his first Premier League goal by volleying in after a failed clearance from the Palace defense six minutes before halftime. Although Arsenal did not display their full offensive potential, they managed to secure their 10th clean sheet in 13 matches across all competitions.

Head coach Mikel Arteta praised Eze's remarkable technique but expressed concern over the injuries sustained by Declan Rice and William Saliba in the second half. Arsenal now holds a six-point advantage over fifth-placed Manchester City and a seven-point cushion over seventh-placed Liverpool.

On the other hand, Manchester City, who appeared to be the main challengers to Arsenal, faced their third consecutive defeat at Villa Park. Matty Cash's stunning long-range goal in the 19th minute secured Aston Villa's fourth straight league victory. City striker Erling Haaland saw his 12-game scoring streak come to an end, as a late goal was ruled out for offside.

Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven scored twice in a match that marked Everton's first defeat at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium. Pape Mate Sarr added a third goal, highlighting Tottenham's strong start under new coach Thomas Frank.

In other results, Bournemouth's victory over Nottingham Forest cemented their position in second place, while Nottingham Forest remains in the relegation zone despite a managerial change. The match saw Marcus Tavernier open the scoring from a corner, followed by Eli Junior Kroupi's goal, marking his fourth in six Premier League games.

In a closely contested match, Burnley edged past Wolves 3-2, leaving Wolves at the bottom of the table. Burnley's Lyle Foster scored a stoppage-time winner, while Wolves' coach Vitor Pereira faced criticism from fans amidst a heated exchange after the match.

Despite a strong start from Burnley, with Zian Flemming scoring twice, Wolves fought back with goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Marshall Munetsi, before Foster's late goal secured all three points for Burnley, moving them five points clear of the relegation zone.
