Jonas Wind has expressed his desire for increased playing time at VfL Wolfsburg, having only participated in 18 minutes of football this season.
In a recent match against Borussia Dortmund, Wind was substituted in for the final 17 minutes of the game, which ended in a 1-0 defeat. Following the match, he commented to WAZ about his dissatisfaction with being on the bench, stating, “Of course I’m not satisfied when I’m sitting on the bench – especially when I didn’t play at all in the last game. Today was better, I got (nearly) 20 minutes. But I’m still not satisfied.”
Wind, who has been training diligently, acknowledged that the final decision on playing time rests with the coach. He also mentioned his readiness to contribute after missing much of the pre-season due to a hip injury.
Despite being linked with a transfer during the summer, Wind ultimately remained at Wolfsburg with one year left on his contract. He reflected on the situation, saying, “I don’t know exactly why it didn’t work out. I was generally open to a new challenge. But now I’m here in Wolfsburg – and of course I’m also happy to be at VfL.”
