Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Gerardo Seoane has stated that the competition for the club's No. 1 goalkeeper position is currently wide open.
Jonas Omlin and Moritz Nicolas are once again vying for the starting goalkeeper role at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Nicolas had secured the No. 1 role last season but faced a long-term injury, which allowed Omlin to take over during the latter part of the campaign.
With Nicolas now fully recovered, he is not assured a starting position for the new season, as the competition with Omlin remains intense. “Nothing has been decided yet,” Seoane remarked in an interview, emphasizing the importance of competition within the team.
In a recent friendly match against 1. FC Nürnberg, Omlin played the first half, while Nicolas substituted in during the second half, reflecting the ongoing evaluation of their performances.
