Bayern Munich's legendary goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, addressed the media ahead of their upcoming match against Boca Juniors in Group C of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Neuer expressed his anticipation for the match, stating, “We're definitely expecting a good atmosphere. We saw how their game against Benfica went. It will be important that we stay focused, that we stay cool and concentrate on our strengths."
After a commanding 10-0 victory over Auckland City in their opening match, Neuer discussed Bayern's preparations for the upcoming fixture. He noted, “We recharged our batteries and then trained normally again. We're building towards the game so that we're increasingly focused, including in analyzing our opponents, and know exactly what we need in the game."
He also mentioned that while the intensity of training is increasing, it will be slightly reduced the day before the match due to the local temperature conditions.
When discussing the tournament, Neuer refrained from making early predictions about potential opponents and favorites. He remarked, “We'll see how each team performs here and how they cope with the conditions. And then the knockout stage will be a separate story."
Neuer acknowledged that while European teams are often seen as favorites, it is essential not to underestimate the South American teams participating in the tournament.
