Effzeh is actively seeking a new manager for the 2025-26 Bundesliga season.
According to sources, Lukas Kwasniok is considered the leading candidate for the FC Köln position, although no formal agreement has been finalized yet.
The management at the newly promoted Effzeh is in the process of preparing an offer for Kwasniok's current club, SC Paderborn.
Kwasniok's contract extends until 2026, which would require Köln to pay a compensation fee estimated between €1 million and €1.5 million.
The 43-year-old nearly led Paderborn to a promotion spot in the 2.Bundesliga but ultimately finished in fourth place.
