Bayern Munich defender Kim Minjae has discussed his ongoing struggle with persistent Achilles tendon pain.
For several months, Kim has been dealing with discomfort, often playing through the pain for his team. His recent appearance in Bayern's 3-0 victory over Mainz saw him substituted at halftime due to unbearable discomfort.
In an interview with Korean broadcaster Leestar TV, Kim addressed his challenges, stating, "The Achilles tendon issue is still there, but I’m gritting my teeth. Eyes closed, and just pushing through."
Despite facing criticism for his performances this season, Kim has chosen not to use his Achilles issues as an excuse. He remarked, "Mistakes, injuries, or too many games - those might just be excuses. I still need to stay focused. That’s my job. In the end, I should have played better.”
