Timo Werner Linked to Potential Move to MLS Club

Timo Werner has struggled to make an impact during his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig.

Recent reports from BILD indicate that Werner could be considering a move to Major League Soccer.

The forward, currently 28 years old, has not met the expectations of the London club, which reportedly sought to facilitate his transfer during the winter window, though no deal was finalized.

During this period, MLS team New York Red Bulls expressed interest in acquiring him but were unsuccessful.

It is suggested that Werner may now be open to a move, with expectations rising for renewed interest in the summer transfer window.

RB Leipzig is unlikely to include Werner in their future plans, and a reasonable transfer fee would be beneficial for all involved parties.

Werner originally joined RB Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016 for a reported €10 million, scoring 78 goals in 127 appearances before moving to Chelsea for €57 million in 2022.

Since returning to Leipzig for another season, his career trajectory has diminished, facing added competition from current strikers Lois Openda and Benjamin Sesko.
