Report Indicates Upamecano Contract Extension Imminent

The 28-cap French centre-half, Dayot Upamecano, is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Bayern Munich in the coming days, according to sources.

Florian Plettenberg, a journalist from Sky Sports Germany, has indicated that negotiations between Bayern Munich and Upamecano are expected to take place soon.

Bayern Munich, known as Die Rekordmeister, has been focused on extending contracts for several key players recently. Notable examples include Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies, both of whom signed extensions until 2030.

Upamecano, a French international, is believed to be on the verge of a contract extension that would extend his stay with the club beyond his current deal, which is set to expire in 2026.

While final details are still being finalized, the 26-year-old defender could potentially remain with Bayern Munich until 2030.

Since joining Bayern in 2021 for €42.5 million after activating his release clause from RB Leipzig, Upamecano has made 101 appearances and is considered a key player in the team's plans moving forward.
