Hoffenheim will attempt to record back-to-back league victories for the first time this season when they welcome Stuttgart to the PreZero Arena on Sunday.
Hoffenheim currently sits in 15th place in the league standings, having won five, drawn six, and lost 11 of their 22 matches this season. Although they are just outside the relegation zone, they maintain a seven-point buffer from the danger zone. After securing only one point from three matches, the team rebounded last Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen, where goals from Anton Stach, Tom Bischof, and Gift Orban helped them overcome an early deficit.
This victory marked Hoffenheim's second win in their last three away games; however, they will return to the PreZero Arena seeking their first home victory since defeating RB Leipzig 4-3 in November. The team has struggled at home, failing to win any of their last five Bundesliga matches in front of their fans. Hoffenheim aims to find the net early, having scored first in only three of their 11 home league games this season.
In terms of team news, Hoffenheim will be without Ozan Kabak, Umut Tohumcu, Valentin Gendrey, Oliver Baumann, Christopher Lenz, Grischa Prömel, Ihlas Bebou, and Diadié Samassékou for this match.
Stuttgart enters the fixture in seventh place, four points shy of the top four. The team has struggled recently, having lost three of their last four league matches. After back-to-back defeats to Mainz and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart managed a narrow win over Borussia Dortmund. However, they were unable to build on that success in their most recent match against Wolfsburg, where a late penalty sealed a 2-1 defeat.
Despite recent challenges, Stuttgart has found some success away from home, winning three of their last four Bundesliga matches on the road. They will also recall last season’s trip to the PreZero Arena, where they secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Hoffenheim.
Stuttgart will be missing Dan-Axel Zagadou, Luca Raimund, Ameen Al-Dakhil, and El Bilal Touré due to injuries.
